Norfolk status
Rare.
The largest and most robust of the British Olethreutinae.

Separated from E. turbidana by the fasciculate-ciliate antennae and the lighter ochreous-brown general coloration of the forewing, which lacks an ocellus [Bradley].

Formerly found on the Yorkshire coast until 1910, Epiblema grandaevana is otherwise only known in the UK from a population in Leicestershire, although there have been several isolated records from West and East Suffolk.

First Norfolk specimen found among leaves of coltsfoot on the soft-rock cliffs at Overstrand in 2012 (J. McGill, 15/07/12).
